What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that engage people in conversations about faith, life and God. Alpha is for everyone, welcoming people from all backgrounds, religions and viewpoints.
Why Alpha?
Over 675,000 people in Canada and 29 million people worldwide have taken Alpha in 169 countries. It is supported across denominations and Christian traditions and run in a wide variety of places, including homes, restaurants, pubs, universities and churches. Thousands of lives continue to be transformed through churches in Canada who create a space like Alpha where guests can explore their questions and begin a journey to discover Jesus.
What is the Global Alpha Campaign?
The Global Alpha Campaign is going to be the most visible, widespread and exciting invitation in Canada to encourage people to explore the meaning of life. A global advertising campaign will feature internationally recognized and respected British adventurer Bear Grylls sharing his journey to faith on Alpha. Churches of all denominations are joining together to use this historic opportunity to invite their communities to explore life, faith and God.
When is the Global Alpha Campaign launching?
The global Alpha Campaign will launched publicly on Thursday, September 1, 2016. Churches now have access to promotional materials for the campaign in Alpha Builder.
How do I participate in the Global Alpha Campaign?
Churches can choose to participate by joining a regional advertising campaign or simply running Alpha through their church. Fill out the form on the home page to sign up for either option.
Has this ever been done in Canada before?
Yes, on a smaller scale. In 2013 churches in Alberta joined together to launch a provincial campaign using Alpha. 325 churches from 25 different denominations hosted 30,000 guests. 4,874 guests began or restored a relationship with Jesus! 91% of participating churches said they would recommend the campaign to another province.
Has the Alpha content been updated recently?
Yes! Alpha has recently released the brand new Alpha Film Series featuring Bear Grylls. A number of new versions are also available, including the Alpha Youth Film Series and Alpha with Nicky Gumbel. Find out more about the Alpha Film Series at alphacanada.org/AFS.
Where can I order my Alpha materials from?
All Alpha content, training and promotional materials is available for free when you ‘Create an Alpha’ in Alpha Builder. Additionally, resources can be purchased through David C. Cook Canada at alphacanada.org/bookstore.
Where can I access Alpha training?
New Alpha Leader training videos and Team Training videos are available online in Alpha Builder.
Where do I get the "Global Alpha Campaign ft. Bear Grylls" promotional material?
You can access the current Bear Grylls print and digital promotional material in Alpha Builder once you sign up and create an Alpha.
Can I be part of the Global Alpha Campaign if my region is not listed?
Yes! Everyone running an Alpha is a part of the Global Alpha Campaign. If you would like promotional material for your specific church or area, you can find it once you sign up for Alpha Builder and create an Alpha.
